Darrell "DJ" Jackson Jr. is a Columbia native who has dedicated his career to public administration and community development that delivers real results and builds stronger communities.

 

With more than 15 years of experience, he is running for Richland County Council District 11 to ensure every corner of the district, from Fort Jackson to Eastover, has a voice and a proven leader ready to support their needs.

District 11 is home. It's the community that shaped DJ's values, his work ethic, and commitment to service, and it's his why behind this run for Richland County Council.


After years of managing multi-million dollar budgets, leading government agencies, and delivering results for communities across the country, DJ returned to Columbia with a clear purpose to serve the community that raised him.

 

District 11 is growing rapidly, and that growth demands intentional, experienced leadership. As a council member, DJ will guide that growth responsibly by improving infrastructure and traffic flow, strengthening public safety, driving economic development in the district's rural communities, and ensuring that the seniors who helped build this community can age with dignity right here at home.


With an open seat and a district at a crossroads, DJ is ready to put his record to work for the people of District 11. Your voice, vote, and trust in him will lead this community forward.

POLICY PRIORITIES FOR RICHLAND COUNTY DISTRICT 11

As District 11 continues to grow, DJ plans to lead with intention and meet the evolving needs of our communities.

 

His policy plan addresses the growth, infrastructure, and quality-of-life issues that matter most to residents.

Improving traffic safety and ensuring proper infrastructure (sidewalks, bike paths, utilities, etc.) along major  corridors like Lower Richand Blvd., Garners Ferry, Trotter and Leesburg Roads

Helping veterans access earned benefits and services

Reducing crime and securing communities by giving law enforcement and first responders the needed   resources and backing for our youth programs

Creating a compassionate, accountable approach to homelessness by working with nonprofits, community  groups, and service providers

 Encouraging regional cooperation with local governments to address issues like housing, traffic    control, transportation, and economic development
